Hi everyone. I am an OYR I student, my agency, Shorefront Y in Brighton Beach has been coordinating volunteer efforts in South Brooklyn. You are probably aware that the coastal areas were hit the hardest. We have been going door-to-door to home-bound seniors without electricity providing them with food, water and supplies. We are unsure when the power in the local area will come back. If anyone is interested in volunteering please let me know. Our community is predominately Russian, so knowledge of Russian is preferred. Additionally, we do need volunteers to help with responding to social services questions.
